I will admit that I have been annoyed at the idea of being pregnant this Mother’s Day: I was going to be 39 weeks pregnant, whereas Robby was guaranteed to be a dad on Father’s Day next month. Talk about insult to injury. Regardless, I had plans to do a Mother’s Day post with low carb double chocolate muffins, in honor of my own mom, who loves chocolate but is pre-diabetic. That didn’t happen (although it probably will later).

Instead, this happened! Kyla arrived a good ten days early on May 8, running almost 7 pounds and 20″ long. So far she’s a relatively low-maintenance baby: doesn’t cry much as long as she’s being held or fed, and at sleeps a few hours at a time a couple of times per day. Robby and I are duly grateful.

As I mentioned in my last post, I’ll be on blog maternity leave this summer; Liz, Anne, and Ellen will drop by with guest posts, and I may be able to squish a couple extras in. And maybe some baby updates 🙂 Use the email signup on the right to ensure you get every update!

Thank you for your support in this time. I’ll be around to respond to comments and so on, and I’ll be back to my regular schedule in the fall!
